Judicial activities at both the Appellate and High Court divisions of the Supreme Court will be partially suspended on Monday as a mark of respect for former Justice AFM Mesbahuddin.

Justice AFM Mesbahuddin, a former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, passed away on Sunday at the age of 80 due to age‑related complications.

His janaza prayer is scheduled to be held after Zuhr prayers at the Supreme Court’s inner garden.

Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed, presiding over a seven‑member Appellate Division bench, announced the observance.

The Appellate Division will adjourn after its morning session. The chief justice further said that the High Court Division will not conduct proceedings in the afternoon session following the lunch recess. Additionally, the Chamber Court of the Appellate Division will not convene.
