National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Organiser for northern region Sarjis Alam submitted his nomination on Monday to contest the Panchagarh-1 constituency as the candidate of the 10-party alliance led by Jamaat-e-Islami.
He filed his nomination at the office of the Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner in Panchagarh.
Speaking to reporters afterward, Sarjis Alam said, “I want to work with everyone to build a prosperous Bangladesh.”
During the nomination submission, he was accompanied by Jamaat-e-Islami district Ameer Iqbal Hossain, Secretary Delwar Hossain, and NCP district convener ABM Zulfikar Alam Nayon.
A total of 19 candidates have filed nominations in Panchagarh-1 and Panchagarh-2 constituencies.
Other candidates in Panchagarh-1 include BNP’s Nawshad Jamir, JAGPA’s Al Rashed Pradhan, Bangladesh Labour Party’s Ferdous Alam, Jasod’s Nazmul Haque Pradhan, Bangladesh Nationalist Front’s Sirajul Islam, Bangladesh Supreme Party’s Abdul Wadud Badsha, and Gono Odhikar Parishad’s Mahafuzar Rahman.
