Bangladesh’s right-handed batsman Saif Hassan has made a notable leap in the ICC T20 rankings following his impressive performance in the recent series against Afghanistan. His unbeaten half-century in the final match saw him climb 17 places to reach 18th position on the T20 batsmen’s list.
Saif’s rise came after a composed innings of 64 not out from 38 balls in the final match of the series. Under pressure, his responsible batting guided Bangladesh to a historic victory, completing the whitewash over Afghanistan.
Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed was named Player of the Series after claiming five wickets across the three matches. His consistent performances have resulted in a significant jump of 87 places in the T20 bowling rankings. He now stands at 44th position with 525 rating points.
In the Test arena, Indian players dominated the rankings this week. Mohammad Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, and Kuldeep Yadav impressed in India’s first Test against the West Indies, each making notable strides in the rankings.
Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul also made headlines with centuries in the same match. Jadeja has further strengthened his position as the top-ranked Test all-rounder, while Rahul has moved up to 35th among Test batsmen.
Elsewhere in T20 rankings, Australia’s Mitchell Marsh climbed 13 places to reach 10th among batsmen. New Zealand’s Tim Robinson rose to 22nd after scoring a century in the opening match of his series.
Among bowlers, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan moved into second place, just behind India’s Varun Chakravarthy. Noor Ahmad and Mujib Ur Rahman also improved their rankings. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood rose 10 places and now sits in 13th position.
