The government has appointed Md Sabbir Mostafa Khan as the chairman of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) Board.
He is currentry serving as a professor at Department of Water Resources Engineering of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET)
According to a notification issued by Local Government Division under Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives on Sunday, the appointment has been made for a three-year term.
The order, issued by Senior Assistant Secretary Mohammad Shakila Parvin, stated that the appointment was made in accordance with Section 7(1) of Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Amendment) Act, 2026.
The notification further specified that the order issued in public interest would take immediate effect.
