Actor Rashmika Mandanna has reportedly suffered a serious hip injury while filming an action-packed dance sequence for one of her upcoming films, with doctors advising her to take six weeks of complete rest, writes NDTV.
According to multiple media reports, the actor sustained a complete hip tendon detachment after falling during the shoot of a physically demanding sequence.
The incident is believed to have occurred on the sets of either Ranabaali or Mysaa.
Filming was reportedly halted immediately following the accident, and Mandanna was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Reports suggest the injury is uncommon among actors, with doctors reportedly noting that such tendon damage is more frequently seen in professional athletes who undergo intense physical training.
Following a comprehensive medical examination, Mandanna has reportedly been advised to avoid all work for six weeks before beginning a structured rehabilitation programme to ensure a full recovery.
The reported injury is expected to temporarily halt the actor’s packed filming schedule and commercial commitments.
Neither Mandanna nor her team has issued an official statement on the matter.
Rashmika is currently working on several high-profile projects, including Mysaa and Ranabaali.
She recently resumed shooting for Mysaa after her wedding to actor Vijay Deverakonda.
Directed by debutant Rawindra Pulle and produced by Unformula Films, the emotional action thriller is set against the backdrop of the Gond tribal community, with Rashmika portraying a Gond woman in what is being described as one of the most challenging roles of her career.
She is also set to reunite with Vijay Deverakonda in Ranabaali, directed by Rahul Sankrityan.
The Telugu period drama, set during the British Raj, is inspired by lesser-known chapters of Indian history and marks the pair’s third on-screen collaboration. The film is scheduled for release on 11 September.
While production timelines may be affected by the reported injury, an official update on Rashmika Mandanna’s health and shooting schedule is still awaited.
