Musician S I Tutul has celebrated Eid by releasing two new tracks from the US, where he has been based for several years. The songs, ‘Bondhu Keu Noy’ and ‘Tumi Krishok Bhalo Na’, premiered on his Facebook page and YouTube channel, with Tumi Krishok Bhalo Na launching on the eve of Eid and Bondhu Keu Noy following on the festival day.
Bondhu Keu Noy is a heartfelt tribute to the late rock legend Ayub Bachchu, founder of the iconic band LRB, who was posthumously awarded the Ekushey Padak this year. The track was written by Shahidul Haque Sohel, while Tutul himself composed, arranged and performed the song.
Sharing the release online, Tutul described Bachchu as a mentor and offered prayers for his soul.
Tutul’s musical journey is closely intertwined with LRB, where he served as a keyboardist and backing vocalist before departing in 2003. He subsequently formed his own band, Face 2 Face, and has pursued a successful solo career.
These latest releases continue Tutul’s tradition of blending soulful melodies with meaningful lyrics, while also honouring one of Bangladesh’s most influential rock musicians during the festive season.
