The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has stayed the bail granted by the High Court to former state minister for disaster management and relief Enamur Rahman in five cases.

The following day, a court granted police six days to interrogate him in a murder case filed with Mirpur Police Station.

On 18 February 2025, police produced him before a court in connection with the murder of Md Hridoy in a case filed with Savar Police Station and sought seven days of remand for questioning.

The defence opposed the remand plea and sought bail for the accused. After hearing both sides, the court granted police four days of remand.

Enamur Rahman was subsequently shown arrested in several other cases. He later sought bail from the High Court in five of those cases, and the court granted him bail.

The state then moved the Appellate Division’s Chamber Court, seeking a stay on the High Court’s bail orders. Following a hearing on Sunday, the chamber court stayed the bail granted in all five cases.

Enamur Rahman was elected a member of parliament from the Dhaka-19 (Savar) constituency as an Awami League candidate in the 10th and 11th parliamentary elections. After the 11th parliamentary election, he was sworn in as state minister for disaster management and relief in January 2019.

He also contested the 12th parliamentary election in 2024 as an Awami League candidate but lost to independent candidate Muhammad Saiful Islam.
