Rupali Bank PLC’s mobile financial service, RupaliCash, has signed a distributorship agreement with Akij Online to expand digital financial services and enhance customer experience across Bangladesh, the bank said in a press statement.
The agreement was signed on Thursday at Rupali Bank’s head office in Dilkusha, Dhaka, with senior officials from both organisations present.
Akij Online Managing Director Sheikh Amin Uddin said the collaboration between two strong private and government-backed brands sets a benchmark for the country’s economic advancement.
Rupali Bank Managing Director Kazi Md Wahidul Islam said the service is poised to become one of the leading and most popular digital financial platforms in Bangladesh. He noted that Rupali Bank launched mobile banking in 2016 as the first government bank and has successfully operated RupaliCash on its proprietary technology since 2025.
The signing ceremony was attended by Rupali Bank Deputy Managing Directors Tahmina Akhtar and Hasan Tanvir, as well as Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Mamunur Rahman. Both institutions said they will work together to make digital transactions faster, safer, and more user-friendly.
