Director Rubel Aziz has been elected as the new Vice Chairman of City Bank PLC at a recent meeting of the Board of Directors, the bank said in a statement on Thursday.

A renowned industrialist and entrepreneur, Aziz holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the UK.

With years of experience in business, he has played a significant role in the socio-economic development of Bangladesh, establishing and successfully running numerous industrial ventures.

Aziz is the Managing Director of Partex Group and previously served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of City Bank from December 2011 to October 2016.

He is currently the Chairman of the Board’s Executive Committee at City Bank.

Aziz also served as Chairman of IDLC Finance Limited and is the founding President of the Dhaka Boat Club.

Additionally, he is President of Banani Club since 2019, a member of the Trustee Board of IBAIS University, and a former Chairman of Janata Insurance Co. Ltd.

He is also a member of the National Committee of United World College (UWC).

Having served two terms as elected President of the prestigious Gulshan Club, Aziz is deeply involved in the digitalization process of the Bank.

He actively participates in discussions with the core team on innovation and strengthening the Bank’s sustainability practices.
