Cristiano Ronaldo made a strong return after a month out with injury. He scored twice as Al Nassr beat Al Najma 5-2 in the Saudi Pro League on Friday.

It was a big moment for Ronaldo. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner played his 100th league match in Saudi Arabia. He now has 97 league goals there. His total career goals also reached 967.

“It’s good to be back. We move forward together,” Ronaldo wrote on social media.

He had been out since February with a hamstring injury. He missed two league games for Al Nassr. He also missed Portugal’s friendlies against Mexico and the United States last month.

Al Najma shocked everyone by scoring first. Rakan Al Tulayhi gave them the lead just before halftime.

Al Nassr hit back quickly. Abdullah Al Hamdan and Sadio Mane scored in stoppage time of the first half. That turned the game around.

Al Najma equalised early in the second half. Felippe Cardoso scored just two minutes after the break.

But Al Nassr took control again. Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot in the 56th minute. He added another goal in the 73rd minute.

Mane then scored again in stoppage time to seal the win.

This was Al Nassr’s 13th straight league win. They stay top of the table with 70 points. They are six points ahead of second-placed Al Hilal, who play Al Taawoun on Saturday.
