Bangladeshi leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has left for Australia to play in the Big Bash League, becoming the second Bangladeshi after Shakib Al Hasan to feature in the tournament. He will represent current champions Hobart Hurricanes.
Rishad was also signed by Hobart Hurricanes last season but could not play due to not receiving a no-objection certificate from the Bangladesh Cricket Board. This time he will participate in the Big Bash and will not play in the BPL.
The Big Bash League kicks off on 14 December, with Rishad and Hobart Hurricanes beginning their campaign against Sydney Thunder on 16 December. The match will start at 2:15 pm Bangladesh time.
Hobart will then face Melbourne Stars after a day’s break, and on 21 December they take on Melbourne Renegades. Their next matches will be against Perth Scorchers on 26 December, and Melbourne Renegades at home on 29 December.
Rishad will also feature on New Year’s Day against Perth Scorchers, before a day’s break ahead of a 3 January clash with Sydney Thunder. The Hurricanes’ first-phase fixtures conclude with games against Adelaide Strikers on 9 January, Sydney Sixers on 11 January, and Brisbane Heat on 14 January. The Big Bash final is scheduled for 25 January.
