Rangamati Hill District Council Chairman Kajal Talukder said the decision to postpone the exam was reached following discussions with law-enforcement agencies and other relevant stakeholders.

He noted that the strike scheduled for the day of the test, along with concerns over possible transport disruptions and overall security, prompted the deferment.

The chairman Kajal Talukder said the exam, which already postponed multiple times, had been rescheduled for 21 November, with all preparations in place.

This latest deferment marks the fourth time the test has been pushed back. He expressed regret to candidates, parents, and others affected by the delay.

Earlier in the day, job seekers under the banner of the Anti-Quota Unity Alliance, along with general students, began a 36-hour strike in Rangamati from 6am, protesting the quota system in teacher recruitment and raising several other demands.

On the first day of the strike, transport services across the town remained suspended from early morning. Protesters marched in small groups, blocked key roads, and in some areas burned tires to obstruct traffic.

Mohammad Sahed Uddin, officer-in-charge of Rangamati Kotwali Police Station, confirmed that vehicular movement had been heavily disrupted due to the strike but said no untoward incidents were reported.
