The trailer for Ramayana, unveiled during the auspicious brahma muhurat on 30 July, has generated widespread excitement online.
While much of the attention has focused on Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and the musical collaboration between Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, eagle-eyed viewers have also spotted several hidden mythological elements woven into the visuals.

One of the trailer’s most striking sequences features a majestic white elephant soaring through an epic aerial battle.
The creature appears to be Airavat, the celestial elephant of Lord Indra.
According to Hindu mythology, Airavat emerged during the Samudra Manthan (Churning of the Ocean) and later became the divine mount of Indra, king of the Devas.
Traditionally depicted as a magnificent white elephant with multiple tusks or trunks, Airavat symbolises strength and divine authority.
Its appearance may foreshadow Ravana’s campaign against Swarga Loka (heaven), including the legendary battle in which his son Meghnad defeats Indra and earns the title Indrajit, meaning “Conqueror of Indra”.
The sequence suggests that the film intends to portray Ravana not merely as the ruler of Lanka, but as a formidable warrior capable of challenging the gods themselves.
Another standout visual is the enormous flying structure gliding across the skies, widely believed to be the legendary Pushpak Vimana.
In Hindu mythology, the flying palace was crafted by Vishwakarma, the divine architect, for Lord Brahma before being gifted to Kubera, the god of wealth.
Ravana later seized the Pushpak Vimana after defeating Kubera, his half-brother.
The mythical aircraft is described as a self-propelled aerial palace capable of travelling at extraordinary speed while expanding to accommodate countless passengers.

Among the trailer’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments is the appearance of the golden deer racing through the forests of Dandakaranya.
The animal is not an ordinary deer but Maricha, the shape-shifting demon portrayed by Saurabh Sachdeva.
Acting on Ravana’s orders, Maricha transforms himself into the enchanting golden deer to lure Rama and Lakshmana away from their forest dwelling.
The deception ultimately leaves Sita vulnerable, paving the way for her abduction and triggering the central conflict of the Ramayana.
