The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rainfall in several parts of the country, including Dhaka, over the next 24 hours from Saturday morning.
According to a Met office bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
A few places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions may also see rainfall, with moderately heavy to heavy falls possible in some areas.
The bulletin added that day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country.
Meteorologists said that the axis of monsoon troughs runs from Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal to Assam, crossing the central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends into the north Bay.
The BMD said the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the north Bay.
