Thousands of music lovers braved heavy rain to attend Pakistani singer Atif Aslam’s concert in Dhaka on Friday (24 July), creating a festive atmosphere around the venue on Madani Avenue hours before the show began.
Crowds started gathering near the venue from around 3:30pm. Many arrived carrying umbrellas, while others wore raincoats or stood in the rain as they waited in long queues to enter. Despite the downpour, the weather did little to dampen their excitement. Fans eagerly waited for the chance to see the singer perform live.
Several concertgoers said opportunities to watch an artist like Atif Aslam perform live are rare. For them, neither the rain nor the long wait was enough to discourage them from attending.
Organisers also arranged additional security measures to ensure spectators entered the venue safely and in an orderly manner. Volunteers and members of the law enforcement agencies managed the entry points and remained on duty throughout the event to maintain security and discipline.
