Director Raihan Rafi has taken an unusual approach to promoting his upcoming film Andhar by “leaking” the first look of Nazifa Tushi’s character himself.
Instead of an unofficial image surfacing through anonymous sources or entertainment pages, the reveal came directly from the filmmaker. Sharing the image on Facebook, Rafi said it was a screenshot captured from the monitor during filming rather than an official still or poster.
“First leak of Andhar. A screenshot taken from the monitor during the shoot. Not an official still, not a poster—just a moment captured on set,” he wrote. Rafi added that the single frame made one thing clear: “Nazifa Tushi looks absolutely stunning in Andhar.” He also introduced the actress as Nadia, saying audiences would see her “most mesmerising screen presence yet.”
The post marks the first official glimpse of Tushi’s character in the much-anticipated supernatural thriller.
Tushi later shared the same image on her Facebook page with a playful response to the director’s post.
“I stayed quiet for almost a year. Not anymore!” she wrote, before thanking Rafi for “leaking” her look.
The actress also described Nadia as her favourite role to date.
“‘Nadia’ from Andhar is my favourite character I’ve played so far (for now). This role allowed me to explore so many different emotions. It was challenging, but incredibly rewarding at the same time. I had an amazing time bringing this character to life, and I hope you’ll enjoy watching her on the big screen just as much,” she wrote.
