Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained a drug trader and seized 2,000 illegal Tapentadol tablets at Malanchi under Sadar upazila on Saturday.
RAB‑6 Company Commander (Jashore camp) Major ATM Fazle Rabbi Prince confirmed the matter.
The detainee was identified as Md Ikramul Islam.
Acting on a tip‑off, RAB raided a large drug shipment being transported from Satkhira to Jashore on a local bus. During the search, Ikramul was caught with 2,000 Tapentadol tablets.
The process of handing him over to Jashore Kotwali Police Station is underway after a case was filed under the Narcotics Control Act, officials said.
