Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed hope that the conflict involving Iran will end “as soon as possible”, warning that a prolonged war would have serious consequences for the rest of the world.
Speaking amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Putin said that if the fighting continues, “everyone would lose out”, as the conflict continues to affect global energy markets and regional stability, reports Middle East Eye.
Russia has been attempting to position itself as a diplomatic intermediary during the crisis, while urging negotiations and opposing any further escalation in the region.
