Actress Puja Cherry has addressed the recent arrest of her father, Debu Prasad Roy, stating that she has no involvement in the allegations against him.
In a message shared on her verified social media account on Sunday, the actress said she felt compelled to speak out following a surge of enquiries from media outlets and members of the public.
She emphasised that her professional journey has been built independently over the past decade, adding that she manages her own career and finances without any connection to her father’s business dealings. She also clarified that she does not hold ownership in any production or film-related company.
Describing the situation as personally difficult, Puja acknowledged the emotional impact of the development but stressed that the matter remains a private legal issue concerning her father.
She expressed confidence that the legal process would proceed accordingly and urged the public and the media not to associate her professional work with the ongoing case.
