Professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, widely known as Pac in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Neville in WWE, has died at the age of 40.
AEW announced his death on Sunday but did not disclose the cause or circumstances surrounding his passing.
“AEW is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac,” the promotion said in a statement. It described the Newcastle upon Tyne-born wrestler as a performer whose innovative high-flying moves and in-ring ability captivated audiences worldwide.
Satterley’s death came just days after his final match at AEW All Out in Chicago on 26 September.
He challenged Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship but failed to claim the title. Andrade retained the championship after turning Pac’s attempt at a Brutalizer submission into a pin.
Born on 22 August 1986, Satterley began his professional wrestling career in 2004. He first gained recognition on the British independent wrestling circuit before expanding his career internationally, including a notable stint with Japan’s Dragon Gate promotion.
He joined WWE in 2012 and made his NXT debut as Adrian Neville. He quickly established himself as one of the brand’s leading performers, winning the NXT Tag Team Championship before capturing the NXT Championship in 2014. His reign lasted 286 days, from February to December that year.
Known for his remarkable aerial manoeuvres, Neville earned the nickname “The Man Gravity Forgot”. His signature move, the “Red Arrow”, a 450-degree splash from the top rope, became one of his most recognisable finishing moves.
Neville moved to WWE’s main roster in 2015 and later became a prominent figure in the company’s cruiserweight division. He won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship twice and was also known as the “King of the Cruiserweights”.
After leaving WWE in 2018, Satterley returned to the Pac name and resumed his international wrestling career, including another stint with Dragon Gate. He joined AEW in 2019 as one of the promotion’s early major signings.
During his time with AEW, Pac became the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion, a title later renamed the AEW International Championship.
He also won the AEW World Trios Championship alongside Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix as part of Death Triangle. He later became associated with the Death Riders.
Across a career spanning more than two decades, Satterley competed in Britain, Japan, the United States and other international wrestling circuits.
His athleticism, high-flying style and risk-taking performances established him as a prominent figure in professional wrestling.
AEW has not released further details about his death.
