Pubali Bank PLC has obtained the internationally recognised Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification, strengthening its data security framework for card-based and digital transactions and reinforcing customer trust.
The certification marks a key milestone for the bank, which has operated in Bangladesh’s banking sector for nearly seven decades and positions the lender in line with global standards on information security and ethical banking practices.
In line with directives from Bangladesh Bank, Pubali Bank PLC began its PCI DSS compliance programme in mid-2022. The process involved identifying technological gaps, upgrading systems, modernising security infrastructure and migrating to the latest version of the PCI DSS framework.
After completing all required stages and meeting the prescribed conditions, the bank achieved the certification for the first time on 31 December 2025, according to the press statement.
The certification was awarded by Control Case, a Qualified Security Assessor firm approved by the international PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC). i-Clique Solutions Limited acted as the local partner for Pubali Bank PLC during the certification process.
The bank said the achievement reflected the combined efforts of several internal units, including the ICT Operations Division, Card Operations Division, Software Development Division, Card Business Division and the Alternative Delivery Channel (ADC) Division.
To formally mark the achievement, a PCI DSS Certification Award ceremony was held at the boardroom of Pubali Bank PLC’s head office. The certification was formally handed over to Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Ali.
