Bangladesh is set to make its official debut at Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026, with OTT platform Bongo launching Voice of Bangladesh to select the country’s first representative for the international competition.
The talent show will feature a star-studded judging panel comprising five of Bangladesh’s leading music personalities—Fahmida Nabi, Hamin Ahmed, Bappa Mazumder, Shawkat Ali Emon and Akhi Alamgir.
Singer and television host Tahsan Khan will host the competition.
Following applications in May and June, organisers shortlisted 12 contestants, who are now undergoing a special grooming programme ahead of the final competition.
The grand finale is scheduled for 30 September, when Bangladesh’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026 will be selected.
The winner will go on to represent Bangladesh at the regional contest, which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, on 14 November.
Bangladesh will compete alongside South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Nepal, Bhutan, Cambodia and Laos in the inaugural Asian edition of the competition.
According to the organisers, winners of the Asian competition will have the opportunity to qualify for the main Eurovision Song Contest in the future.
A press conference will be held at a hotel in Dhaka on 22 July to unveil details of the competition. The event will also officially introduce host Tahsan Khan and the five-member judging panel.
Episodes of Voice of Bangladesh will be streamed on Bongo and broadcast on NTV.
