A low-pressure area is likely to form over the south-east Bay of Bengal around 13 October, bringing light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds to parts of the country, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The BMD forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur at a few places in the Rajshahi, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions. Similar conditions are likely at one or two places in the Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
Moderately heavy rainfall may also occur at isolated places across the country.
Both day and night temperatures may rise slightly nationwide, the forecast added.
The meteorological authority also confirmed that the south-west monsoon has withdrawn from Bangladesh.
