The Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team’s scheduled departure for Oman has been postponed due to visa complications ahead of their five-match Youth ODI series against Afghanistan.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the development in a media release on Saturday, saying the team is still waiting for the necessary travel clearance.

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), which is hosting the series in Oman, has informed the BCB that it is awaiting approval from the Omani authorities. The visa process began in early September and has been handled through the ACB. However, the required visas have yet to be issued, leaving Bangladesh’s travel plans uncertain.

The BCB clarified that the visa approval process is beyond its control, as the ACB is coordinating the arrangements with the relevant authorities. Despite the delay, the Bangladesh U19 squad remains ready to travel. The board said it would arrange the team’s departure as soon as the necessary visas are issued.

The five-match Youth ODI series is scheduled to take place in Oman, with Afghanistan serving as the host nation. However, the BCB has not announced a revised departure date, and it remains unclear whether the delay will affect the series schedule.
