Private University Alumni Association of Bangladesh (PUAAB) has announced its first ad hoc executive committee, marking the launch of a national platform aimed at bringing together graduates of the country’s private universities.
The newly formed founding committee will oversee the organisation’s institutional development by preparing its constitution, establishing its organisational structure and launching a nationwide membership drive.
PUAAB said it also plans to work on research, innovation, employment generation, entrepreneurship development and a range of social responsibility initiatives, according to press release.
Mohammad Ahsan Chowdhury has been appointed convener of the ad hoc committee. Farina Haque and Engineer AFM Rahman Oni will serve as joint conveners, while Kazi Tafsirul Islam has been named member secretary.
The committee’s joint member secretaries are Sakif Ahmed (IT and Database), Md Tanvir Ahmed (Law and Constitution), Inzamul Islam (Public Relations and Communication), Dr Muhammad Shahriar Haque (Research and Training), Abdullah Al Maruf (Corporate and Industrial Networking), Montasir Islam (Outreach and Expatriate Alumni), and Jennifer Hossain (International Affairs).
Abdullah Hil Kafi has been appointed treasurer, while Mohammad Ahsan Kabir Rubel will serve as administration and office secretary. Md Abdullah Al Mahfuz Zakaria has been named chief coordinator, assisted by deputy chief coordinator Sakib Chowdhury.
The association said it aims to strengthen collaboration and knowledge-sharing among private university alumni to create employment opportunities, promote innovation and contribute to national development.
PUAAB believes that connecting hundreds of thousands of private university graduates under a single platform will help improve education, skills development and professional networking across the country.
The organisation said membership registration and the formation of university-based chapters would begin shortly. It also plans to announce a national roadmap for alumni activities and finalise several sub-committees in the coming weeks.
