President Mohammed Shahabuddin has expressed deep concern over the worsening condition of former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is currently receiving treatment in Evercare Hospital.
The concern was conveyed in a statement released to the media on Saturday by the president’s Assistant Press Secretary.
The president also urged citizens across the country to offer prayers for her recovery.
Khaleda Zia, who is close to 80 and suffers from multiple health complications, was admitted to hospital again on 23 November with a lung infection and heart-related problems.
She remains under treatment in the CCU, where a medical board and a team of local and foreign specialists are keeping her under continuous intensive observation.
