President Mohammed Shahabuddin will leave for the United Kingdom on Saturday for follow-up treatment and medical check-ups.
His Press Secretary Sarwar Alam told UNB on Friday that a Biman Bangladesh Airlines commercial flight carrying the President is scheduled to depart Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for London in the morning.
Family members, personal physicians, staff nurses and relevant officials and employees of Bangabhaban will accompany him during the visit.
President Shahabuddin underwent cardiac bypass surgery in Singapore in October 2023. Doctors later advised him to undergo post-operative follow-up examinations at a specialised hospital in the United Kingdom.
He is expected to return home on May 18.
