President Mohammad Shahabuddin is scheduled to visit his home district Pabna on a four-day official trip beginning 6 November, according to a notification issued from Bangabhaban.
This will be his first official visit since the fall of the Awami League government on 5 August 2024, sources at Bangabhaban said.
As per the schedule signed by the President’s Protocol Officer, Abul Kalam Md Lutfor Rahman, on 29 October, President Shahabuddin will depart for Pabna by helicopter from BAF Base Bashar in the capital’s Tejgaon area on 6 November.
Upon arrival, he will be accorded a guard of honour at the Pabna Circuit House, where he will stay overnight.
On 7 November, the President is expected to visit the graves of his parents at Arifpur to offer prayers and later meet with relatives and local well-wishers.
The following day, 8 November, the President will again hold meetings with close family members at the Circuit House and remain there overnight.
Concluding his trip on 9 November, President Shahabuddin will again receive a guard of honour at the Circuit House before returning to Dhaka by helicopter.
The notification instructed relevant authorities to ensure adequate security arrangements in line with official protocol.
It also directed the Pabna Deputy Commissioner to coordinate administrative activities and arrange necessary transport facilities during the visit.
