Electricity supply will remain suspended for 8 hours Saturday in several areas of Sylhet due to urgent repair, renovation, and maintenance works.
In a notice issued on Friday, Sylhet Sales and Distribution Division-2 of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) informed that power supply will be cut from 7am to 3pm on today. The notice was signed by Executive Engineer Shams-e-Arefin.
According to the announcement, power will remain unavailable in Kazitula, Manikpir Mazar Road, Nayasarak, Barutkhana, Jail Road, Hawapara, Charadighirpar, and nearby areas under the 11kV Nayasarak feeder.
Similarly, under the 11 kV Naiorpul feeder, areas including Kazi Jalal Uddin School, Naiorpul Point, Osmani Museum, Dhopadighir Uttarpar, Anabil, Hotel Anurag, Jhornarpar, Kumarpara Point, Shahi Eidgah, and surrounding locations will face outages during the maintenance period.
BPDB further stated that if the repair works are completed earlier, power supply will be restored immediately.
Apologising for the temporary inconvenience, the Board sought cooperation from the city dwellers.
