Bangladeshi actress Pori Moni, who frequently makes headlines for both her personal life and career, has once again drawn attention—this time for an emotional tribute to filmmaker Chayanika Chowdhury.
The actress attended a fashion show in Gulshan, Dhaka, on Tuesday night, where Chayanika Chowdhury was also present.
While speaking on stage, Pori Moni referred to the director as her “mother” and described her as one of the greatest sources of strength and support in her life.
“To me, she is simply my mother. First and foremost, she is my mother, and then she is Chayanika Chowdhury to everyone else,” Pori Moni said.
“She is one of the greatest treasures in my life, a tremendous source of strength, faith and support. I want to say in front of everyone: I love you, Mum.”
Visibly moved by the gesture, Chayanika Chowdhury responded with affection, saying, “I also want to say something. She is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen—not only in appearance but also in her heart. I love Pori very much.”
The heartfelt exchange created an emotional atmosphere at the event, with guests responding with warm applause.
Pori Moni and Chayanika Chowdhury have shared a close relationship for several years.
The filmmaker has stood by the actress through a number of difficult periods in her personal life, and the two have often expressed their mutual affection and respect in interviews and on social media.
The pair first worked together on the film Bishwoshundori, directed by Chayanika Chowdhury.
Their professional collaboration eventually grew into a close personal bond, which Pori Moni publicly acknowledged once again by calling the filmmaker her “mother” during the event.
