Actress Pori Moni, who passionately backed Argentina throughout the FIFA World Cup, has once again caught the attention of social media with a humorous post following the team’s defeat in the final.
The Dhallywood star celebrated every Argentina victory during the tournament and openly shared her disappointment after the team’s 1-0 extra-time loss to Spain in the World Cup final.
Shortly after the final, she jokingly wrote on Facebook: “Looks like I won’t be getting married after all. My beloved Argentina, see you again.” The post quickly went viral across social media.
Continuing the light-hearted banter, Pori Moni shared another Facebook post on Wednesday (22 July), writing: “Cancel the final too, brother.”
She accompanied the post with an image claiming that FIFA had overturned Leandro Paredes’ red card, prompting her tongue-in-cheek reaction.
Throughout the tournament, Pori Moni repeatedly expressed her support for Argentina.
She shared videos wearing the team’s iconic sky-blue and white jersey and frequently posted her admiration for captain Lionel Messi.
One of her most talked-about posts came ahead of the Argentina–England semi-final, when she joked: “If Argentina wins the World Cup, I’ll get married again. Final.”
That playful promise quickly went viral, attracting hundreds of thousands of reactions, comments and shares.
With Argentina ultimately missing out on the title, the “marriage plan” never materialised.
