Police have recovered the body of a housewife in Gobindaganj, Gaibandha. Residents handed her husband over to the police.
Gobindaganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozammel Haque confirmed the matter. The body was recovered on Saturday from the Bogulagari area in Dorbosto Union. The deceased has been identified as Rajiba Begum, 25.
According to local sources, family members discovered Rajiba’s hanging body at their residence. As news of the discovery spread, it caused a stir in the locality. Police then recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for an autopsy.
However, residents claim the incident is a planned murder. They alleged that the victim’s husband, Suja Mia, killed her and hanged the body. Then locals caught Suja and handed him over to the police.
OC Mozammel said the police had inspected the scene and collected evidence. Based on the allegations of the residents, Suja has been taken to the police station for primary questioning.
He added, “Preparations are underway to file a case.”
