Police recovered throat-slit bodies of three young men from the hills of North Shilkhali area in Baharchhara union under Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
Baharchhara Police Outpost In-charge Durjoy Biswas confirmed the incident.
The bodies were recovered from the remote area between 10am and 10:30am on Tuesday.
Woodcutters discovered the bodies and alerted police, who then began recovery. The deceased have been identified as Mujib, Nurul Bashar, and Robiul Alam.
In-charge Durjoy said, “We went to the scene after receiving information from locals. We found three bodies there and later recovered. It is suspected that this incident may have occurred due to a clash between two groups of robbers. One of the deceased, Mujib, is a marked criminal. However, details will be provided after an investigation.”
Additional Superintendent of Police (Ukhia-Teknaf Circle) Rokibul Hasan told Times of Bangladesh, “Additional police were deployed to the spot. An investigation is underway to uncover the actual cause of the incident.”
Police said an inquest report is being prepared, and the bodies will be sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
