Mymensingh District Police and Bandarban District Police, in collaboration with bKash, organized workshops focused on preventing the misuse of Mobile Financial Services (MFS) in criminal activities.
The workshops, titled “Investigation and Prevention of Misuse of Mobile Financial Services,” took place recently at the police lines drill sheds in both districts.
A total of 130 investigating officers from Mymensingh District Police and Bandarban District Police participated in the day-long sessions. The workshops aimed to equip officers with the necessary skills to identify criminal activities involving digital financial transactions and ensure the security of MFS.
Kazi Akhtar Ul Alam, Superintendent of Police in Mymensingh, and Md Shahidullah Kowsar PPM (Bar), Superintendent of Police in Bandarban, attended their respective workshops as chief guests. Major Monirul Karim (retd), EVP & Head of External Affairs at bKash, also joined both events.
The workshops discussed how to utilize digital tools to trace lost customer funds, monitor digital transactions to prevent crimes like kidnapping, and improve communication with bKash officials during investigations.
The use of trackable digital transactions is empowering police forces, including the Detective Branch, Criminal Investigation Department, and Police Bureau of Investigation, to combat crime effectively. bKash has been conducting such workshops for law enforcement officers since 2017, with nearly 4,500 officials trained across the country.
