Actor-director Ziaul Hoque Polash has shared a heartwarming story of football fandom and mutual respect after receiving an unusual gift from a supporter of Argentina.
On Tuesday, Polash revealed on his Facebook account that a fan had sent several mangoes to his address. What made the gift stand out was that each mango carried a sticker of the Brazil national football team flag.
The gift was sent by Mishkat Jari Islam, a young man from Naogaon who identified himself as an Argentina supporter. He also included a letter with the package.
In the letter, the fan expressed his admiration for Palash’s acting and personality, noting that the actor had earned a place in the hearts of many viewers through his popular character Kabila in the television series ‘Bachelor Point’.
Mishkat wrote that although he supports Argentina in football, he has always supported Palash as an admirer of his work.
Responding to the gesture, Polash said the beauty of football lies in mutual respect and affection among supporters. He noted that although the sender was an Argentina fan, he had chosen to send mangoes decorated with Brazil stickers as a gesture of goodwill.
The actor added that people are ultimately more important than divisions based on teams or opinions.
Polash said the fan’s letter left him emotional and strengthened his sense of responsibility towards his work.
The actor is currently busy with the fifth season of the popular television series ‘Bachelor Point’. It has been reported that upcoming episodes will feature the football rivalry between Brazil and Argentina.
