Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Monday urged students to prepare themselves for contributing to the country’s development and national welfare in the future.
He made the remarks during a brief interaction with students who visited Parliament to observe the budget session during the lunch break.
The prime minister’s spouse Zubaida Rahman was present at the time.
A total of 45 students from four educational institutions in Madaripur district attended the budget session on Monday.
The students were waiting outside the Prime Minister’s Office at the Parliament complex when the prime minister spoke to them while en route to an event at the Bangladesh-China Friendship International Conference Centre.
He advised the students to focus not only on academic studies but also on sports, cultural activities, and other creative pursuits.
The students expressed excitement after meeting the prime minister and described the experience as memorable.
The visit was organised at the initiative of Md Jahandar Ali Mia, MP from Madaripur-2 constituency.
The participating institutions were United Islamia Government High School, Donovan Government Girls’ High School, Rajoir Girls’ High School, and Takerhat Popular High School and College.
During the visit, the students also toured different parts of the Parliament complex and learned about its history, architecture, and legislative functions.
