Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will place floral wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar to mark Shaheed Dibash and International Mother Language Day. He is scheduled to pay his respects to the language martyrs at 12:01am.

Law enforcement agencies have ensured a multi-tier security apparatus for the occasion. Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General (DG) AKM Shahidul Rahman stated that there is no specific threat regarding the International Mother Language Day programmes.

Speaking during a briefing at the Central Shaheed Minar premises at approximately 11:20am on Friday, the DG said, “We have taken all types of preparations. RAB is ready to tackle any situation.”

The briefing focused on the overall law enforcement situation and RAB’s special security measures across the country. He noted that RAB forces have been deployed in coordination with other law enforcement agencies at the Shaheed Minar.

The RAB DG further stated that the RAB bomb disposal unit and dog squad have completed necessary sweeping, prioritising the security of the Shaheed Minar with the highest importance.

Additionally, RAB special forces are on standby at all times to address any arising situations. Necessary security measures have also been implemented for VVIPs, VIPs, and political leaders paying their respects at the Central Shaheed Minar.
