The first Jummah (Friday prayer) of Ramadan was observed at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque with a massive turnout of devotees.
Shortly after the Azan, the mosque reached its full capacity, and special prayers were offered for the nation.
This significant Friday falls on the second day of the month of Ramadan, which is within the first ten days, known as the ‘Decade of Mercy’.
Devotees of various ages began arriving at the mosque from 11:30am.
By 12:30pm, the main building was completely filled, forcing hundreds of worshippers to perform their prayers in the outer courtyards and surrounding areas as there was no space left inside.
Worshippers travelled from different parts of the city to attend the prayers at the National Mosque. Some devotees remarked that they make a dedicated effort to perform all the Jummah prayers of Ramadan at Baitul Mukarram.
Meanwhile, strict security measures were in place, with a visible presence of law enforcement personnel positioned in front of and around the mosque to ensure order during the prayers.
