Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has congratulated the Bangladesh Under-20 football team for clinching the SAFF U-20 Championship title.
In a congratulatory message issued on Friday night, the Tarique extended his best wishes following the team’s victory. Bangladesh secured the title after a high-stakes final against arch-rivals India in Male, Maldives, on Friday.
Following a draw at the end of regulation time, the match moved into a penalty shootout. The red-and-green representatives emerged victorious, defeating India 4-3 in the shootout to claim the trophy.
With this triumph, Bangladesh has achieved the distinction of winning the SAFF U-20 tournament title for the second consecutive time. The extraordinary success of the young players has sparked a wave of celebration across the nation.
