Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday received Director General of Bangladesh Coast Guard Rear Admiral Md Ziaul Haque, for a courtesy meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Secretariat.
During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged cordial greetings.
Tarique praised the Coast Guard for their unwavering dedication, patriotism, and professional conduct.
He particularly commended their efforts in maintaining peace, security, and public welfare along the country’s coastal and riverine areas.
He also instructed the service to continue providing disaster relief and public service activities in these regions.
Prime Minister was briefed on the Coast Guard’s various development initiatives.
He assured the Admiral that the government would maintain continuity in these programmes.
Tarique further called for maintaining the highest level of preparedness to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty.
