Sony delivered a major showcase for PlayStation 5 fans on June 2, with its ‘State of Play’ livestream featuring more than an hour of announcements, trailers and developer insights.
The broadcast, streamed via PlayStation’s official YouTube and Twitch channels, presented over 20 titles spanning first-party releases and third-party games, highlighting the company’s wide-ranging upcoming slate.
Among the biggest highlights was extended footage of Marvel’s ‘Wolverine’, which showcased new gameplay sequences and action-heavy moments that quickly drew strong reactions from fans.
Fans of the ‘God of War’ franchise were introduced to ‘God of War: Laufey’, a new instalment focused on the story of Kratos’ wife, Faye.
Other major reveals included ‘Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis’, which received a new trailer and release update, alongside horror title ‘Until Dawn 2’, which was unveiled as a forthcoming sequel.
Additional announcements featured ‘Control Resonant’, ‘Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve’, ‘Rayman Legends Retold’ and ‘Silent Hill: Townfall’, each offering glimpses into new worlds, gameplay systems and release windows.
Clips and images from the livestream quickly spread across social media, with fans sharing reactions to the range and scale of titles presented during the broadcast.
Sony said the showcase was designed not only to announce new games but also to strengthen its connection with the gaming community, with developers offering behind-the-scenes insights and extended gameplay footage.
