Under-17 National Championship 2025 began in the Kirtankhola Zone on Saturday as Pirojpur Under-17 district team beat Bhola Under-17 district team 1–0 in a competitive opening match.

Both sides locked horns from the start and refused to sit back. They pressed, countered and attacked with intent, but neither side found a breakthrough before the break.

Pirojpur created the clearer chances in the first half. They moved the ball quicker through midfield and stretched Bhola out wide, yet their finishing let them down.

The game shifted straight after the restart. Musad Hossain whipped in a dangerous cross and Mehedi Fasan Rana timed his run perfectly to finish cleanly and grab the winner.

Pirojpur controlled possession for long spells and pushed numbers forward. They earned five corners and five free-kicks, which kept Bhola pinned deep.

Bhola stayed competitive and fought for territory when they could. They won three corners and four free-kicks but struggled to turn those moments into real danger.

Pirojpur captain Nahid Sheikh drove the team on. He carved out two strong solo chances, once early and once late, but the forwards failed to apply the final touch.

At the back, Pirojpur stood firm. Defender Sabbir Molla read the game sharply, cleared his lines with authority and claimed the man of the match award for his composure.

The opening ceremony drew official attention as Pirojpur Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Alauddin Bhuiyan Jony attended the fixture. The championship began with intensity, and Pirojpur set the early standard.
