Malaysian automobile manufacturer Perodua launched the seven-seater sport utility vehicle (SUV) Aruz 2026 Black Edition in Dhaka on Wednesday, stepping up its push into Bangladesh’s growing family vehicle market.
The model was unveiled at PHP Motors’ Tejgaon Experience Center, where Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Mohammad Shuhada Osman and PHP Motors Managing Director Mohammad Akhtar Parvez jointly inaugurated the vehicle.
The company said in a press release, the launch marks a strategic expansion of Perodua’s footprint in Bangladesh’s passenger car segment as demand rises for premium SUVs with higher seating capacity and modern features.
The Aruz Black Edition comes with an all-black exterior design, upgraded alloy wheels, enhanced cabin comfort and advanced driving technologies aimed at improving convenience and road performance at a competitive price that is yet to be disclosed.
The launch event was attended by senior officials from the Malaysian Embassy and PHP Group.
PHP Motors also handed over the first unit of the Aruz 2026 Black Edition to customer Abdul Quader Jilon during the programme. Another customer, Jewel Rana, received the keys to the latest Perodua Bezza 2026 model.
Industry insiders said the launch reflects intensifying competition in Bangladesh’s passenger vehicle market, particularly in the SUV and multi-purpose vehicle categories, where automakers are increasingly targeting urban middle- and upper-income buyers.
Perodua, one of Malaysia’s largest automobile manufacturers, has been gradually expanding its overseas presence through dealership partnerships and regional market expansion initiatives across South Asia and other emerging markets.
