A Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) delegation briefed President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on the current state of the country’s banking sector, the key challenges it faces and the measures needed to address them, at Bangabhaban on Thursday.
The delegation reaffirmed the commitment of member banks to strengthening stability, good governance and public confidence in the banking system, and to supporting the country’s economic growth. The meeting concluded on what the source described as a cordial and constructive note, said a press release.
The delegation was led by BAB Chairman Abdul Hai Sarker, accompanied by BAB Vice Chairmen Romo Rouf Chowdhury, Rashed Ahmed Chowdhury and Sharif Zahir, together with chairmen of various private commercial banks.
