United Commercial Bank (UCB) PLC’s Agri Rural Fast Loan (ARFL) initiative has been named Champion Project of the Year, Information Technology (Medium Category) at the Bangladesh Project Management Symposium & Awards 2026.
The initiative is designed to facilitate agricultural loan disbursement to eligible farmers within a single day, said a press release on Sunday.
The event was organised by Project Management Institute, Bangladesh Chapter, at a hotel in Dhaka on Saturday. State Minister for Planning Md Zonayed Abdur Rahim Saki attended as chief guest. UCB Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer Md Abdullah Al Mamoon attended along with other senior officials of the bank.
ARFL runs on UCB ONE, the bank’s core digital banking platform. UCB described the award as a milestone for an agriculture and rural entrepreneurship initiative and an affirmation of its efforts to use digital innovation for more efficient and inclusive financial services.
