Traffic on the Padma Bridge has remained steady over the past three days, with nearly 1,19,682 vehicles crossing from its Munshiganj section to 21 southern districts.
Toll collection from these vehicles totaled Tk13.21 crore.
Abu Sad Niloy, Executive Engineer of the Padma Bridge site office, reported that 18 March saw the highest single-day traffic, with 41,885 vehicles paying Tk4.54 crore in tolls. On 17 March, 38,517 vehicles crossed, generating Tk4.18 crore, while 19 March saw 39,280 vehicles, bringing in Tk4.48 crore.
The bridge’s record for single-day traffic remains 52,487 vehicles, set on 5 June, 2025.
Thursday, the final day of Eid travel, saw normal traffic from the morning. Many commuters continued returning home during the later hours, creating moderate pressure on the bridge, but no congestion was reported.
Officials said the smooth flow of vehicles was aided by the government holiday, which began four days before Eid, allowing travelers to leave in phases and reach their destinations without major delays.
