Popular singer Fatima Tuz Zahra Oyshee has lent her voice to the official theme song of the ‘Prothom Alo–Star News Women’s Football Tournament 2026’.
Lyricist Kabir Bakul wrote the lyrics, while Adib Kabir composed the music. The song was recently recorded at a studio in the capital.
Oyshee said she immediately agreed to the project after receiving the offer and praised the song for its potential to inspire female footballers.
“I agreed as soon as I received the offer. I really liked the song. I believe it can be ideal for inspiring women footballers,” Oyshee said.
According to the tournament authorities, the competition will be held for the first time with 37 potential women’s football academies listed under the Bangladesh Football Federation’s (BFF) one-star category.
Eight teams from six regions—Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Sylhet, Chattogram and Dhaka—will compete in the tournament. The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be held in Dhaka in the third week of October.
Organisers said the theme song will be played during football matches as part of the tournament’s registration activities.
