A total of 76,580 Bangladeshi citizens have completed their registration for the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage in 2026.
Ministry of Religious Affairs Senior Information Officer Md Abubakor Siddik told the media, “A total of 76,580 people including 72,344 under private management while 4,260 of government management have so far registered to perform Hajj in 2026 according to the Saudi government’s Hajj roadmap.”
He added that beyond general pilgrims, teams including medical staff, Hajj guides, and administrative and technical personnel will also travel to Saudi Arabia to assist the pilgrims. “The ministry sends a list of those people to the Saudi authority for approval,” he stated.
The registration process, which opened on 27 July, 2025, was finalised by 16 October, 2025, as per the Saudi government’s established roadmap. The first flight carrying pilgrims is scheduled to depart on 18 April.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued strict directives to Hajj agencies and the three designated airlines – Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saudia Airlines, and Flynas airlines – to adhere precisely to Saudi instructions.
The ministry on 11 January sent a letter to the Hajj agencies and the three airlines, engaged for pilgrimage management and transport with specific directives.
Key directives require agencies to send 20 percent of pilgrims during the mid-stage of pre-Hajj flights, with the remainder distributed during the first and last stages. The ministry has also prohibited agencies from issuing less than 30 percent or more than 50 percent of tickets in either the first or last flight phases.
All registrations are being processed through the official e-Hajj system (www.hajj.gov.bd), the Labbaik mobile app, Union Digital Centres, offices of the Islamic Foundation, and the Ashkona Hajj office.
The Saudi government has made a medical fitness certificate mandatory for all pilgrims.
Emphasising the importance of health preparedness, the Nasuk Massar platform advised, “Among the paramount measures to guarantee a seamless Hajj journey is putting your health first and preparing yourself physically and mentally to deal with common health issues that pilgrims often encounter.”
