A total of 4,32,989 Bangladeshi expatriates have successfully completed casting their postal votes for the 13th parliamentary election and referendum.
Out of Country Voting System Development & Implementation (OCV-SDI) Project Team Leader Salim Ahmad Khan, overseeing expatriate voter registration, provided the details to the media on Wednesday.
He said authorities dispatched 7,66,862 ballots registered via the app to the respective destination countries of the expatriates.
From this total, 4,99,328 overseas voters received their ballot papers, while 4,32,989 voters finalised the voting procedure, he added.
According to his information, voters have submitted 3,79,579 ballots to post offices or post boxes in their host countries, and Bangladeshi authorities have received 29,728 postal ballots so far.
Salim Ahmad Khan further said a total of 15,33,683 voters – both domestic and expatriate – have registered to vote through the “Postal Vote BD” mobile app.
