Police have arrested 39,267 people across the country during a special operation conducted from 1 May to 27 July 2026.
In addition to the special drive, 102,722 people were arrested in connection with other cases and raids, bringing the total number of arrests during this period to 141,989.
During these operations, police recovered a substantial cache of weaponry and explosives, including 325 firearms, 2,802 rounds of ammunition and cartridges, 103 magazines, and 46 cocktails. The seizures also included 2.25 kg of gunpowder, 638 local weapons, 18 weapon components, 17 pieces of equipment used for manufacturing arms and bombs, and 10,300 chocolate bombs.
A detailed breakdown of the recovered firearms reveals 101 pistols, 35 shooter guns, 38 LGs, 19 revolvers, 92 guns, 15 pipe guns, 7 shotguns, 3 rifles, 2 SMGs, 12 air guns, and one pen gun.
In a major crackdown on narcotics, police seized 9,122,996 Yaba tablets, 9,080 sachets of heroin, 4,095 bottles of Phensedyl, 8,211 bottles of foreign liquor, 423 bottles of local liquor, and 8,552 sachets of cannabis (ganja), alongside other drug-related substances.
Following these recoveries, authorities have filed 17,066 cases and arrested 24,821 people specifically related to drug offences.
